Just nine months after last October's announcement, Hopium's first working prototype, the Alpha 0, was completed and is now running its test laps after the dynamometer tests, not least: the hydrogen fuel cell sedan is already capable of speeds of 200 km / h.
In parallel with the presentation of the prototype, Hopium opened the pre-order: those interested can deposit a deposit of 410 euros for the first thousand copies of the future series model, Hopium Machina.
Hopium is the company of the youngest Le Mans winner to date, Olivier Lombard (in 2011, at the age of 20, won an LMP2 category victory with a Zytek Z11SN-Nissan). Olivier has been competing with hydrogen-powered cars for seven years now; you want to transfer your experience here to the roads.
It is known that the production of the series model will be about 500 horsepower and will go up to 1000 kilometers with one charge.
From the videos below, you can learn about the Hopium fuel cell platform as well as the Hopium Alpha 0 prototype.
