By Thursday midnight, all 13 insurers involved announced their new kgfb tariffs. This year, motorists can meet for the first time with the tax included in the fee, so unlike in previous years, all 13 insurers announced a new tariff. About 1.3 million vehicles, including nearly 900,000 car operators, compete for insurance and Netrisk.com estimates that up to 150,000 kgfb can be replaced in the coming weeks.
According to the test calculations, the average price of new contracts will be around 25-26 thousand HUF, which represents an increase of 8-10 percent compared to last year. This is somewhat lagging behind the estimated price increase of 10-15 percent due to market developments, which shows that competition in the kgfb market remains strong.
In addition to vehicles involved in international traffic, a significant surcharge can be expected for vehicles involved in road passenger transport, and for the first time this year, some insurance companies are counting on seat-specific multipliers.
It is better than ever to pay the annual fee in one amount, in electronic form: up to 25-30 percent fee advantage is available compared to the quarterly check deposit. In addition, insurers are also rewarded with a significant co-operative benefit this year if someone, at the same time as kgfb, signs a casco or home insurance contract. The insurers will have to forward the next year's premiums for current contracts to customers at least 50 days before the anniversary date - until the end of the year - no later than November 11th, if they can change their current contract by 1 December. Those who have opted for electronic communication in return for a fee discount are able to wait for their insurer's fee notification by e-mail, not by post, Netrisk.hu said.
In the Communication.HU announcement, MTI informed MTI that according to their latest data, the unbroken kgfb fee increase will continue for the next six years. (Although rising fees are still far from their starting level in 2004, almost 45 thousand forints.) Motorists need to "activate themselves" to avoid premium increases, and they have time to change insurance by 1 December.
Rising charges may be due, among other things, to the increase in component prices and hourly repair costs, as well as the increase in damages due to the increase in the technical content of cars.
The aggregate kgfb premium income of insurers is expected to exceed 170 billion forints this year, but if we take into account the rising cost of damage and the expansion of the domestic fleet, this fee rate can be considered proportionate. The number of vehicles from 3.2 million in 2012 has now risen to over 5 million in Hungary.
