The amount they will receive for the last 991 Porsche 911 will be spent entirely on the fight against the coronavirus. The Speedster comes with a watch and an experience package.
Every automaker is trying to add to the fight against the coronavirus. They support children’s leisure time and parents ’peace of mind with many colorants, and many also make masks or even ventilators. And Porsche offered an important model for auction, the last piece in the 991 series, which is also the brand's last copy of the Speedster for its 70th birthday.
The 1978-piece limited-edition series uses the basics of the GT3, but true to the Speedsters ’tradition, it got a flatter windshield and a manually movable canvas roof. As previously reported, its 4-liter, six-cylinder intake boxer engine delivers 510 horsepower and can rotate up to 9,000. The six-speed manual and, of course, the purely rear-wheel-drive Speedster couldn’t miss the sperr either. It accelerates to 100 in 4 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km / h.
Sotheby’s will hold its online auction from April 15-22, where the bidders will not only be richer with the Porsche 911 Speedster, but will also receive the accompanying 911 Speedster Heritage Design Chronograph watch. In addition, Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, head of GT, himself will show him the development center and a factory test pilot will give driving tips to the Speedster.
Proceeds from the auction will go entirely to United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund.
