Many foreigners drove without a valid sticker in March and April on domestic roads.
The National Toll Service Service (NÚSZ) Zrt. Imposed surcharges on passenger cars in about 80,000 cases in March and in almost 50,000 cases in April, which handed over 18,000 cases to the police in March and more than 10,000 cases in April due to unauthorized road use. .
In March, the NÚSZ checked the road use rights of passenger cars in the e-sticker system for nearly 20 million passes, and in April for 13 million passes. In the e-toll system for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, the camera system checked the payment of tolls for 6.5 million lorry passages in the third month of the year and more than 5 million in the fourth month.
For the former, it was found that 45 percent of those traveling without an e-sticker were foreigners in the average of the two months studied. In the latter case, it was found that 82 percent of unauthorized road use was committed by foreign truck drivers.
