The number of clean electric and plug-in hybrid new passenger cars sold a record 386,000 units last year on the continent.
Last year, a total of 386,000 clean electric cars were found in Europe, according to a summary by the European Electromobility Association.
With this, 2.5 percent of new cars sold on the continent last year were pure electric cars. The annual figures were mostly driven by the December sales of 40,500 such vehicles, representing a 33 percent increase over the same period in 2017.
In line with European trends, the proportion of electric car sales is increasing year by year in Hungary, though it is lagging behind European figures.
