650-horsepower, rear-wheel-drive, hand-shifting sports models come from Cadillact. They’ve heard fans don’t ask for small turbocharged engines. Well, they get great!
If something has to be named, Americans can be bullshit great masters in it. Think of the Mustang V8, called the coyote, or the distinctive purple color of the Dodge Challenger, the Plum Crazy. Blackwing is coming at Cadillac.
Not knowing what Cadillac could do, environmental standards are simply too tight to pack the Suction V8 into sports models, so the latest CT4-V and CT5-V have already come with turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines, respectively.
Maybe it’s because of U.S. easing emissions rules, but now they’re still moving on, throwing the Blackwing series into the game. The CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing models will have a V8 engine. With two turbos and even a manual transmission (or 10-speed automatic). Such a sports limousine is now offered by very few, only the BMW will be similarly bold at the M3.
The Blackwing biturbo V8 promises 650 horsepower and more than 850 Nm of torque. Not much has been told about them yet. All that has been said, however, is that they will be faster than the previous CTS-V. Nor was it slow with acceleration in less than 4 seconds and a top speed of 322 km / h.
