The all-electric 911 still has a lot to look forward to, but less so for the partly electric version.
At the end of 2018, Porsche unveiled the current, eighth generation of the 911 sports car, which is currently available in several petrol-powered versions. Not as a hybrid and entirely electric, but the German manufacturer already has such plans.
Oliver Blume, the first man from Porsche, said that there will certainly not be a purely electric version of the 911 in this decade, and it is still difficult to say what will happen after 2030. This, in turn, does not mean that the type will not receive a partially electric drive chain in the near future.
Blume said they are already working on the concept of the hybrid 911, which is expected to be unveiled with the next generation. According to the CEO, a very sporty hybrid drive can be expected, something like that found in Porsche’s racing car, the 919.
The successor to the hybrid hypersport car, the 887-horsepower 918 Spyder, which will be produced in limited quantities between 2013 and 2015, will also arrive, but official unveiling will take place in 2025 at the earliest.
