With 120 horsepower, front-wheel drive and CVT transmission, the sporty Yaris will also be available. But only in Japan.
I never thought there would ever be a turbocharged, all-wheel drive, skylight Toyota Yaris. By now, we can increasingly believe that Tojoda Akio wasn’t just talking in the air when he said he wanted to make exciting cars. For starters there, the Toyota GR Supra, then they introduced the Yaris, which has pretty much nothing to do with the five-door Yaris, but will be a better base for a race car.
Of course, it would be foolish to produce only a 250-horsepower, adjustable all-wheel-drive version with a 1.6-turbocharged engine. Therefore, a more modest version will only be available for purchase on the Japanese domestic market. The hot shape has been retained, but the technique is gentler. The smooth GR Yaris 1.5-liter intake engine has 120 horsepower and 148 Nm of torque. This model has front-wheel drive and CVT transmission.
