The Jaguar Land Rover was an interesting attempt; they are examining how much we trust in self-propelled vehicles.
According to surveys, nearly two-thirds of pedestrians and cyclists (63%) are not happy about having to drive with autonomous vehicles sooner or later - presumably because they are unpredictable, have recognized them and how the car will react. In case of a meat-and-blood driver, it's easy: if we get eye contact with them, we can be sure they've been perceived - a different question, of course, if they stop.
Therefore, the Jaguar Land Rover is now investigating whether a system can be fitted in which a robotic car is fitted with an artificial "eye" that looks "perceived" to the perceived pedestrians, indicating that they are aware of their presence. Let's see, the gloomy experimental vehicle looks stupid, but it's a strange feeling that one such machine gun looks at the man. Is it possible in the future that we will not only speak about the car's eyes?
