The 'self-braking shopping cart' allows parents to shop more relaxed in supermarkets.
If we ask parents what their blood pressure is like to go to the sky, then after the children go to the dining table and after the evening laying, the weekly shopping is coming. Not only is there a serious fight in the confectionery department, but because the kids love to ride with fast and heavy cars.
Ford has recently developed a solution to avoid accidents between supermarkets and parking lots. To do this, he had an idea from a well-proven technology called the "Collision Warning System", which was originally intended to prevent road accidents.
The system available for most cars detects vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists in front of the car with a forward-facing camera and a radar, and if the driver does not respond in time, the system will automatically brake. The sensors of the "self-braking shopping trolley" serve a similar purpose: they constantly monitor the obstacles and people in front of the trolley and, if there is a risk of collision, they automatically give a brake command.
The innovative shopping cart is currently a prototype in the Ford Interventions product line, which aims to solve everyday problems with automotive technology and knowledge.
