Not only can we mobilize people with vehicles: Toyota's UK subsidiary supports training dogs.
The biggest car manufacturers are now more likely to call themselves a mobility provider. If we look at it, Toyota's initiative in England is not that surprising: the company whose mobility robots have recently been reported has now contributed to the visually impaired.
At the beginning of last year, Toyota Great Britain contacted the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, which aims to provide mobility, freedom and independence to people with impaired vision or blind people.
The support of the program was voted by Toyota GB staff and contributed to the financing: the company had a UK top manager bike and walked on a 137-kilometer charity tour, gathering donations for the association on the go. They collected 32,500 pounds ($ 11.9 million), which was then doubled by the Toyota GB, thus supporting the program with an amount of nearly $ 24 million, which has been actively rolling since then: the company is still over 144,000 pounds (52.8 million pounds). forint).
From this money, four puppies are trained as professional companions. One of them, the eight-day-old Banjo, is already over half of the training, according to his instructor, he is doing well, although he still loves to play with other dogs in the open air. By the way, Banjo was named after a public vote organized by Toyota, so if he grew up and got to work, he would be the first officially-sponsored guide dog in the world.
