With more than 75 billion forints, it will launch a series of ethanol-powered Toyota Prius production in Brazil that will be the first in the genre to deliver fully emission-free traffic.
The technology developed by Toyota do Brasil, using bioethanol from sugar cane, is responsible for carbon neutral operation, but not primarily for its success in the South American country, but because it sells the same amount of ethanol as gasoline in Brazil, making the flexi-fuel Prius wider masses reach Toyota.
Following the prototype's world premiere in April, all-round tests have tested the reliability, lifetime and performance of the technology, and experience shows that the new system has performed better than expected.
Toyota spends one billion Brazilian reals ($ 75.6 billion) on preparing and implementing serial production. The purchase of the model and its technical data are not yet known.
