As of Monday, there will be traffic restrictions in Budapest due to the preparatory work for the festive events on August 20. The Budapest Transport Center (BKK) continuously provides information on changes affecting public transport.
According to their announcement sent to MTI on Friday, the lower quay in Buda between the Rákóczi bridge and Margit bridge will be closed for a full week from Monday (August 22 until 6 a.m.) and between August 22 and 25 every night from 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next day will be closed between
The lower wharf in Pest between Lánchíd and Közraktár utca will be closed every night from Monday to Friday, then from 8 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on August 22, and between 10 p.m. on August 22 and 6 a.m. the next day.
There will also be continuous restrictions for a week from Monday due to the Budapest holiday event: Tárnok utca will be closed all the way, and you will not be able to drive into the Castle area from Dísz tér.
In addition, Lánchíd Street will be closed next Wednesday from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on August 22, and Andrássy Street at Kodály körönd next Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. the following day.
The restrictions apply to buses 16A and 116, night service 916, buses 105, 178, 109, 979 and 990, as well as 41, They affect the traffic of trams 19, 2, 2B and 2M.
