The 310-horsepower Audi S3 accelerates to 100 in 4.8 seconds, but it’s all barely visible on it.
For 20 years, the S3 was the first sports model on Audi to receive a four-cylinder engine. It started as a three-door, and today it presents the third-generation S3 in the form of a five-door Sportback and a four-door Limousine. While the first was built on the PQ34, the new model uses the previously used MQB modular platform, so it remains related to the also compact Volkswagen Golf.
From tiny signs, one can only guess that this is the more muscular Audi A3 than the honeycomb-patterned grille, black mirror housings, but the clearest sign of all is the S3 logos and double exhaust ends on both sides. There are more tightly shaped front seats indoors and a three-spoke steering wheel with a slapped bottom brings a sportier feel. The Audi S3s will not have a roar of performance, it will be the job of the RS3.
Its 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine has 310 horsepower and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. Both the five- and four-door versions accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited at 250 km / h. It has 7-speed automatic transmissions and all-wheel drive with Haldex system. The body of the S3 was planted 15 millimeters lower than the normal model. Now look at the S3 on the move!
