In urban transport, self-driving cars still represent the distant future, but there are already examples of community vehicle sharing, and car rental has long been considered a stable segment. Zenit-Auto Rent Kft. has been a key player in the car rental market for 25 years, and the fact that their new headquarters is located in a smart building clearly reflects their innovative approach.
The company was founded in Miskolc in 1997. Today, they have almost 1,000 vehicles and have several locations nationwide, for example in Budapest.
"In the last 25 years, we have gone through a lot of trends and experienced countless changes that have also determined customer needs. When we were founded, we started as a small company with a few cars and vans. We have been constantly monitoring the market to see what services our customers require, so for example we are open every day - even on weekends and holidays - and we also undertake a lot of assistance tasks. If we look back at the beginning, air-conditioned cars were considered special even at that time, and automatic transmissions were also very rare," said the owner-manager of Zenit-Auto Rent Kft.
"When it was still mostly possible to rent passenger cars, we already had quite a few vans in our fleet, as we saw that there was a demand for them. Then the demand for minibuses increased, which can come in handy during vacations or family events, but also as a means of transporting teams. So we always tried to stay ahead of the trends, for example, the market for electric cars is very strong these days. That's why electric cars and trucks are available in our fleet on a daily basis, and electric minibuses are even arriving," Tibor Soós listed.
Electric cars are mainly used by customers in urban traffic and even as a second car for shorter distances. "If we look at daily rentals, the proportion of electric vehicles is still below 10 percent. However, for long-term leases, together with hybrid drives and cars with green license plates, this is already at a fairly high level, between 30-40 percent," he added.
They are also open to smart technology
The company not only likes to renew its vehicle fleet from time to time, but also made progress in building management. In 2020, they moved to a new headquarters, where XXI. they can receive their customers in a modern environment of the 20th century. In the smart building, the entire system can be controlled by phone - reports iotzona.hu.
"We definitely wanted to build the new headquarters in such a way as to show the innovative style of our company. The entire building has been given an intelligent control system that actually equates to a passive house certification. We also follow the same approach in the field of cars, so we try to adapt in advance to the demands that will arise in the near future, which our customers and the market will assign to us," Tibor Soós emphasized.
