The 807-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock runs a quarter of a mile in 10.5 seconds. With this the fastest series of muscle cars.
Designed for acceleration races and quarter-mile distances, the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock is also perfect for everyday use, with no stronger and faster muscle car today. It also looks exactly like a real American powerplant with its massive booth and widened fenders. The hellishly angry look is just an addition. The Super Stock category refers to cars that look completely ordinary from the outside, but the technique is carefully adapted to the drag races.
The 6.2-liter, V8 HEMI block gets into the Super Stock, as do the Redeye models, but here the supercharged engine already delivers 807 horsepower and 960 Nm of torque. Attached to it is an eight-speed automatic transmission called TorqueFlite 8HP90 and a self-locking differential. It has an adaptive Bilstein suspension underneath and is fitted with lightweight, 4-piston Brembo brakes with aluminum saddles. The 18-inch rims feature 315/40 R18, highly adhesive Nitto NT05R tires.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock is also equipped with a Power Chiller, rubber-burning Line Lock features and start electronics, but there are some interesting features beyond that. One example is Launch Assist, which saves the drive chain from heavy loads. Wheels that stick to the sticky asphalt of acceleration races and then lose traction are a shock-like load that the differential, for example, has a hard time tolerating (this has previously been a problem with Demon models as well). This is protected by the system, which reduces the torque on the wheels when it detects the phenomenon.
It is no coincidence that the above function is likely to be a frequent guest in acceleration races, as it shoots from a standstill in 3.25 seconds to a speed of 60 mph (approximately 96 km / h), running a quarter mile in 10.5 seconds, nearly 211 km / h. at an hourly transit rate. Its limited top speed is 270 km / h.
