They’re really just sprinkling the last crumbs on the latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which will be more advanced than ever and will be unveiled in early September. The exterior will of course remain conservative, as the customer base of such large limousines prefers to do so, but there will be plenty of novelties in the interior. One of these is a navigation system using augmented reality.
The MBUX on-board system, which was introduced in the A-Class, is now taking off in Mercedes' flagship in a whole new form. On the dashboard, the air conditioner will no longer receive separate buttons, everything will be controlled from the huge, touch-screen tablet. Even with voice instructions.
While in smaller models the augmented reality navigation instructions appear in the center display in the form of arrows placed in space and various indications, in the S the head-up display, which projects on the windshield over a large area, takes over this role.
