Citroën, or more specifically, the PSA, Citroën-Peugeot (and now -Opel) Group, cut its ax into a huge tree: a new brand was founded. It also has a premium brand, as in today's increasingly polarized world economy, there are a lot of rich, wealthy car buyers who are not sitting in anything but just what is good, expensive enough for his delicate taste.
This is the brand of DS. The former iconic model, the fifty-year-old Goddess (from the French déesse), is no longer a Citroën DS, just a DS brand, built on PSA platforms, but a very sophisticated exterior and interior, offering many added features. The Citroen model was launched in 2009, and DS 3, DS 4, DS5, and the Citroen brand name have been transformed into a DS for just a few years. In 2014, DS 6 was introduced to China, which was no longer a Citroen among its ancestors.
Now the first standalone model, the DS7 Crossback and the first DS salon, have arrived.
The PSA EMP-2 is the best-selling car from Peugeot 5008 and the upcoming Citroën C5 Aircross twin-eyed twin, which has been decorated with a very spectacular look at the base price. For a good surcharge, the Dear Buyer will be able to combine the selection and quality of the finest premium cars with many French fashion accessories.
And where? At the start of the M5, at the beginning of Nagykőrös road, next to the mini-Eiffel Tower. For the time being, this is the only DS salon in the country, but later, if the business model comes in, new dealers will be able to open, either (in principle) regardless of the other brands of the parent company.
But who exactly does the DS target? We specifically asked for this: PSA is not primarily for the wealthiest Citroën or Peugeot customers, but rather proudly purchases the buyers of the prestigious brands of the past. The DS7 Aircross offers roughly the same size as the BMW X2, the Audi Q3, with one category larger, with services such as motorized rear seat backrest, front armrest, night vision, five-year and 100,000-kilometer free service, with periodic maintenance. It is also included in the premium brands.
