The series version of the el-Born study car was introduced by the VW Group’s mass-market sports brand, the Cupra. Data are incomplete for the time being.
Last spring, the Veil was lifted from its electrical ambitions by the Cupra, a sports brand spun off from Seat. The 204-horsepower electric motor of the el-Born study car presented at that time accelerated to 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds, and its 62 kWh battery allowed a range of 420 kilometers.
Now the standard version of the concept vehicle has arrived, and the reality is more beautiful than a dream: the actual capacity of the battery is no longer 62, but 77 kWh; the range increased from 420 to 500 kilometers. With half an hour of charging, the car can absorb enough energy for 260 kilometers.
We are unable to verify the acceleration data because the Cupra has switched to a more logical measurement of 0-50 km / h than electric cars (since we use them mainly in the city): this exercise is completed in 2.9 seconds by a car with a custom tuning, sporty focus adaptive chassis were developed.
With additional information, he remained indebted to the Cup, including engine power. The car will be manufactured in Zwickau, and the factory plans to launch it on the market by 2021.
