I do not think there is any doubt that we are in the golden age of super and hyper cars - the big manufacturers are trying to overwhelm the other by knocking each other's corners. Audi has not yet entered this competition yet, but it seems that the four-wheelers are concerned with the concept, as the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is prepared with an electrical concept that could compete for the aforementioned categories.
The Germans simply refer to the novelty PB18 e-tron, but before anyone else searches for a deeper report, the PB18 code comes from the composition of Pebble Beach or the current year. The e-tron first name is the electric drive chain and although it is featured on the Audi Le Mans winner's racing car - which is not pure electric but hybrid - the PB18 will be wholly electric.
Too many things do not seem to be on the shared taste, but besides the typical LED daytime running lights of the Germans, the astonishingly low structure and width can be easily seen, while the little "horns" projecting from the top of the car are likely to be camera rear view mirrors. The novelty, however, seems to be quite cleared, and good adhesion is likely to be provided by active aerodynamic elements that do not "slip" into the overall image in a standing position. At the moment, the R8 is the peak at Audin, but it is not nearly certain that the sports car will have its next generation.
For the time being, we know virtually nothing about the car outside of its name and presentation date, which will be due on August 25th. It's almost certain that Audi is not planning a series production from the super car, but buyers' feedback may change later on this. The PB18 e-tron, however, is a great opportunity to draw attention to the Audi's first e-tron series, which will be introduced in a new crossover on 17 September .
