The logistics center of the company in Ecser, which serves several countries, plays an important role in achieving JYSK's sustainability goals, where, among other things, an electric charging station capable of charging 16 cars in parallel was built with the cooperation of ALTE-GO, JYSK announced to MTI on Monday.
According to the sustainability strategy of the Danish company, by 2030 it would halve the absolute greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the maintenance and heating of stores, distribution centers, offices and company cars.
In order to achieve this, the company's new regional distribution center will contribute to the reduction of freight transport, as JYSK will transport 4.5 million kilometers less per year, which will save approximately 3,600 tons of carbon dioxide per year. If the center starts at full capacity, it will serve the stores of Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, and Slovenia in addition to Hungary, and will store 205,000 pallets of goods on 143,000 square meters.
In addition to all this, electric charging stations in the Ecser center also help to achieve sustainability goals. The chargers were installed in the framework of cooperation with ALTE-GO, the company representing the e-mobility business of the ALTEO Group.
According to the announcement, the 8 dual chargers installed by ALTE-GO enable parallel charging of 16 cars. Anyone can take advantage of this opportunity, as the service can be started against payment. Charging can be started with an RFID card or from its application.
At the same time, they explained that only electric forklifts are used in the logistics center, solar panels are installed on six thousand square meters of the roof, the hot water supply is supported by solar collectors, and the heating demand is reduced with a heat pump.
