For the first time in the world, Hyundai has developed a system that allows engine start-up based on the user's fingerprint. Technology is coming next year in the new generation Santa Fe flagship.
Instead of using a push button, it uses a fingerprint reader, and in principle makes any transducer redundant with Hyundai's new technology. Suitable for opening the door and starting the engine, the model uses a sensor located on the outside door handle or on the dashboard to enable operation.
Customers can customize their fingerprint settings: the new generation Santa Fe, launched in the first quarter of 2019, will adjust the seat position, online connection settings, and the position of the exterior rear-view mirrors to the user, but will later be subject to temperature control, steering position and many more features. will also be customizable.
Capacitive fingerprint scanning technology does not accept copies or fakes. The chance of misidentification is one for fifty thousand, so technology is said to be five times safer than conventional key or signal systems. The technology is constantly learning so it can work with less and less error rate for use.
For the time being, it has not been announced which Hyundai markets are the first to launch the system, but it will gradually be delivered everywhere.
