More than 5 meters, it weighs 2 tons, but the Ford Explorer can still only be bought by Chinese buyers with a 2-liter four-cylinder.
The first series of the Ford Explorer was released in March 1990, replacing the Bronco II and is now in its sixth generation. The latest Explorer is a real battery with a European eye, as it has a wheelbase of more than 5 meters long, 2 meters wide and 3 meters. In his homeland, however, it only counts as a medium-sized leisure car. We will have time to make friends with him because Ford is making a real global model out of it.
All it does is sell everywhere in the world. It will be available not only in America, but on the old continent, including ours. Explorer also gets to Chinese buyers, but their needs need a slightly more ornate machine. Ford is packing a larger grille and with it more chrome trifles for the Explorers. The most interesting, however, is the unusually tiny engine. 272-horse versions of the 2.3-liter, four-cylinder EcoBoost turbo petrol engine will be fitted to these 2-tonne cars. The engine isn’t really sharp, as it features 350 horsepower in the Focus RS and Mustang.
A rechargeable hybrid version of the Explorer connector arrives in Hungary. In this, the electric drive is slammed next to the 3-liter V6 turbo engine. The power of the system is 450 horsepower, capable of 40 km without emissions with a single charge.
