By 2025, Ford plans to introduce more than fifty new models in China, part of this program is now being launched by Territory.

The company's jointly developed joint venture partner Jiangling Motors Corporation, however, is an affordable car that targets younger families and people in the inner parts of the country instead of the coastal and wealthier cities.
Compared to this, the drive options are also very modern: with the usual petrol engine there will be a 48-volt mild hybrid version as well as a plug-in hybrid. Technical details are not yet known.
The mid-range SUV genre is quite popular in the Chinese market. Between 2012 and 2016, the segment produced a 38 percent annual growth; however, a large part of demand was met by local manufacturers.
