All signals indicate that an electric motor or plug-in hybrid is made from Lexus UX. The name of the model variant has already been patented.
He patented the UX 300e designation in Europe with Lexus and launched a speculative avalanche.
The type name follows the traditional naming scheme of the brand, but the letter 'e' is brand new, so the drive chain is expected to be new.
There are many options: either pure electric or plug-in hybrid drives. The second would be easier to implement, as Toyota already has a hybrid power outlet, although the Prius PHEV 136 has little or no compact premium leisure vehicle.
At the same time, a number of purely electric premium leisure vehicles have been introduced worldwide, from Jaguar I-Pace to Audi e-Tron, from Mercedes EQC to DS 3 Crossback E-Tense. There is obviously a demand for this genre, but without further information it would be premature to draw conclusions.
In any case, it is thought-provoking that Toyota and Lexus will in principle launch their electric offensive in 2020, and will launch 10 different battery electric models within a few years, and from 2030 they will market one million EVs and FCEVs (fuel cell vehicles) annually.
