The camera-based rear-view mirror offers Honda's new electric car as a standard feature.
After Lexus ES and Audi e-tron, Honda is also launching a digital rear-view mirror. We could already have the technology at the prototype of the model, but it wasn't even that the model would get it - in fact, it would only get it because the camera-display mirror replacement would be standard.
The image is displayed on each side of the dashboard by a 6-inch diameter display; their size and location make the system easy to use and instinctive.
In addition to the continuous A-pillar and the door latches in the door plane, the rear-view camera is extremely stylish, which in addition does not rise from the plane of the wheel arches, thus simplifying maneuvering.
The air resistance of the camera is only one-tenth of the conventional mirrors, which results in an aerodynamic efficiency of about 3.8 percent, not to mention reduced wind noise and better view. Thanks to the camera housing design and the lens-repellent coating, the lens will not be stained in the rain.
The standard view can also be set to wide-angle view - the former 10, the latter 50 percent more than a traditional glass-panel mirror. Reversing guides appear on the mirror screen, the brightness of which automatically adjusts to the environment.
