The 800 hp, terribly rare and $ 1 billion price tag hangs on the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC.
Horacio Pagani founded his company back in 1988, working on several projects for Lamborghini, such as the 25th Anniversary Countach, the incredible LM002 or the brand's last standalone model, Diablo. Later, in the early '90s, he began working on his own model, then signed a deal with Mercedes-AMG to supply V12 engines, and the first model was eventually replaced by his beloved racer (Juan-Manuel Fangio). Today, it has grown into a truly successful company that produces super sports cars and has just introduced its latest model, the rougher version of the Huayra Roadster.
While Huayra was named after the wind god, Benny Caiola, the first buyer and friend of Pagani, the more muscular BC model. This already suggests that the Mercedes-AMG 5980 cubic inch, 60 degree V12 engine has not been left untouched. With two new turbochargers and a number of small changes, the 5900 has a power output of around 800 hp and a torque of 1050 Nm from 2000 rpm. The Xtrac 7-speed sequential gearbox delivers rapid gear changes, delivering 100 sprints in about 2.5 seconds. The front has 398mm rear wheels and 380mm rear wheels with six- and four-piston calipers. The system comes from Brembo. Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, mounted on forged aluminum rims, ensure proper traction. That way, it can bend up to 1.9G.
One of Pagani's specialties is the special use of materials, which is why the open version of Huayra BC also used a new carbon structure and carbon titanium. This improved the car's torsional stiffness by 12%. The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC weighs just 1250 kg. Not only the active air deflectors but the body itself was designed to produce 500 kg of downforce at 280 km / h. Forty copies of the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC will be built for $ 1 billion, of course, tailored to the needs of the dear buyer.
