Hungarian vehicle manufacturing is a decisive sector in the performance of the economy

László Palkovics highlighted that, despite the protracted Russian-Ukrainian war, the Hungarian economy expanded by 6.5 percent in the second quarter, industry is also performing well, and in June-July, for the first time, 4.7 million people worked in Hungary for two consecutive months.

The minister said: the government's aspiration is for the economy to be Hungarian, high-tech and green, and industrial development and technological change correspond to this approach.

Regarding Hungarian car production, he mentioned that significant battery production capacity is being developed in Hungary, and the innovation ecosystem created around the Zalaegerszeg vehicle industry test track helps research and development.

There are four bus factories in Hungary, including the Kravtex-Kühne Group, which operates the country's largest and most modern bus factories in Mosonmagyaróvár and Győr, and its production capacity is also considered significant in the Central and Eastern European region. The presented Credobus Econell 12 Next bus uses more than four thousand liters less fuel per year compared to other buses. The production of Credobuses means about half a thousand jobs and gives work to another 100 Hungarian SMEs, and it is expected that the company group will soon present battery and hydrogen fuel cell versions of the buses, the minister said.

István Krankovics, the managing director of Kravtex Kft., emphasized that the curb weight of the Credobus Econell 12 Next bus is at least 1.5 tons lower than the market average, which is why a significant amount of fuel can be saved with it, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

He added that, according to their calculations, the 2,400 Credobus vehicles, representing about 40 percent of Volánbusz's fleet, save the company HUF 5 billion in fuel annually.

According to the managing director, the production of Credobus contributes to the expansion of the Hungarian economy and helps domestic economic bus transport with a more favorable price compared to competitors, less fuel consumption, and the provision of spare parts.

At the press conference, Kruchina Vincze, president and CEO of Volánbusz Zrt., said that when testing buses, they prioritize innovative solutions, operating costs, and meeting the needs of travelers.
