It will make it cheaper and more and more cars will offer Toyota fuel cell technology. There are no specific deadlines yet.
By the end of the next decade, Toyota's dual hydrogen fuel cell technology can be doubled, according to a Reuters news agency interview with Toyota's top experts. The Mirai range of thousands of kilometers will thus be able to arrive by 2025, but it is even more important that it will not be alone: Toyota would like to offer other models, such as buses and commercial vehicles, to the second-generation hydrogen sedan.
Some expert estimates currently cost 11,000 dollars, or roughly 3 million forints, to a batch of fuel cell bills, but can be reduced to two-thirds in a few years, including by reducing the amount of precious metals (platinum) used in manufacturing (Toyota is said to be already around. The result is a couple of years later, not a year or three or even thirty-five Mirai (or equivalent hydrogen powered cars) at Toyota's plants.
"We want to put as many components as possible in our fuel cell truck vehicles from our existing passenger cars and other models. This is essential to validate the benefits of mass production ", quotes Reuters as Ota Iku, the Toyota Fuel Cell Program Director.
