28,925 new passenger cars were sold in Croatia from January to the end of July, 9.0 percent less than in the same period of 2021, the Promocija Plus institute announced on Tuesday, citing data from the Croatian Ministry of the Interior.
In July, 5,390 new cars were sold, 5.0 percent less than last July.
According to the data, the Volkswagen brand is still the market leader with an 11.4 percent share, of which 3,291 were sold in the first seven months. It is followed by Skoda with 9.3 and Kia with 9.1 percent. 2684 of the former brand and 2635 of the latter were sold.
The Dacia and Opel brands also sold more than two thousand units.
53.5 percent of the vehicles sold are gasoline, 20.3 percent are hybrids, and 19.4 percent are diesel, the demand for electric cars is negligible.
