Hungarians prefer the strongest coffee types based on a recent statement. At least at gas stations.
Similarly to the results of the survey two years earlier, nearly half (46%) of those who travel on the domestic roads choose coffee. However, the dominance of espresso has decreased over the past years and there is an increasing interest in other types of coffee. Two out of ten customers choose the long coffee at the Hungarian filling stations and one at the double espresso. Only 3 million cups of hot drinks are expected to be purchased by OMV's domestic filling stations this year.
His international survey shows that while in Romania and Slovakia the short black is the best, the Austrian and the Germans like to eat more coffee. Especially cappuccino - in both countries more than half of motorists choose this type. However, in many cases preference does not cover reality: in Germany, for example, only 9% of consumers buy espresso, but more than a third of consumers buy this type.
In addition to the choice, the time of day also has a significant impact on coffee habits. In the countries surveyed, they typically drink coffee at breakfast or in the afternoon; this is an exception to Romania, where only the early stage is clearly dominant. OMV's Hungarian data also showed that forty percent of the consumption takes place between 7 am and 11 am in the morning, and the peak time is between 8 am and 9 am. In addition to coffee, most countries buy bottled soft drinks, but in Germany the most popular item was sweets. Interestingly enough, most snacks are still consumed in Romanian filling stations - almost half (46%) of coffee buyers choose some kind of dessert.
