A terrible struggle for prestige will soon ensue within the police of a Japanese city. The stakes: who can drive a police Lexus LC?
From England through Italy to Dubai, luxury and supersports police cars are and have been in high fashion. Why would Japan be left out of it?
A wealthy Japanese businessman donated a Lexus LC to Tochigi City Police. Having done this before, a Nissan GT-R was the gift - it was definitely faster and more ominous, while the Lexus was more elegant and comfortable. Plus, we know nowhere else does police use it.
The point, of course, is that both have a very high prestige, and the police want to use that to build a relationship between the body and the public. At the same time, the car will be used not only for representation purposes, but also for police duties in the strict sense of the word: the work of the traffic and law enforcement departments will be aided by the fast coupe.
