The Swedish super-exclusive car brand introduced its latest development, which can save 20 pounds on the car's weight.
The Koenigsegg "Naked Carbon" name describes exactly what it is all about: there is no lacquer or alternative coating on the car's carbon fiber body, just a bare carbon fiber, so the car gets a 20 kg weight advantage over a standard version.
The company trains the car body so naked that even the thin epoxy layer that usually covers the carbon fibers is removed. This is hand-flattened, but the Koenigsegg mentions that this is a very delicate process, because if someone grinds it, it also destroys the visible fabric structure.
Even though we get a rather fine surface, the company says it has been tested because more samples have been kept outdoors for years without affecting their appearance. According to Koenigsegg, this treatment is also advantageous because the lack of polishing makes the body "less sensitive to scratches caused by stones and sharp objects".
In addition, Koenigsegg Regera has a total power of 1500 horsepower, a biturbo V8 engine and three electric motors. Its performance is impressive: it accelerates from 0 to 300 km / h in 10.9 seconds, much less than the result of Chiron (13.6 seconds), the successor of Bugatti Veyron. What's really amazing is the speed of 0-400 km / hs: it takes just 20 (!) Seconds, and from 150 to 250 it accelerates in 3.9 seconds.
