The government insists on a petrol station to protect Hungarian families, but is ready to negotiate with representatives of small gas stations, said the state secretary for economic strategy and regulation at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) after a consultation with the National Association of Entrepreneurs (VOSZ) and Mobil Petrol on Monday. in the morning.
György László said at the press conference that due to the escaping energy prices, the price of fuels is rising all over Europe, and emergency measures are needed in an emergency. The government - as before - is on the side of Hungarian families, which is why the petrol stop, the interest rate stop, the food price stop have been introduced and the overhead reduction is being maintained, he added.
At the same time, the government is open to hearing the views of small businesses, so consultations were held Monday morning with VOSZ and Mobil Petrol, which operates small gas stations in most settlements of all sizes, he added.
He said that they had held forward negotiations, agreed that the situation would be handled constructively, and that their common goal was to keep inflation in check and to protect Hungarian families from rising prices from abroad.
The Secretary of State reminded that, in line with its overhead reduction policy, the government fixed the price of 95 petrol and diesel at a maximum of HUF 480 per liter last November, for the first time for three months.
Without the intervention, due to the world market processes, we could refuel at petrol stations at a price well above HUF 500 today, László György pointed out: thanks to the measure, Hungarians pay one of the lowest prices for fuel in Europe, just like gas and electricity.
The petrol station has recently been extended for another three months, leaving it in force until May 15, providing additional protection for families using the car, he said.
László György also spoke about the fact that the representative of Mobil Petrol indicated at the consultation that the well network did not want to take part in the "car demonstration and signing the petition, as their aim is not to aggravate the situation, but to find a constructive solution".
He added that representatives of the company also offered to represent the views of other small businesses as well.
The Secretary of State predicted that negotiations would continue with VOSZ and Mobil Petrol's gas station network "in the constructive direction we have been able to agree on all relevant issues in the last two years since the outbreak of the coronavirus crisis."
Responding to a question, László György said that they had not yet received an indication that the filling station would be suspended, and confirmed the Ministry's announcement last week about the MTI's question: there was no need to appoint a temporarily registered service provider to operate a gas station. He also said on a question from MTI that constructive suggestions from representatives of small gas stations are expected in the second half of the week.
