Lexus reduced the unsprung weight of the LC coupe by no less than 10 pounds. Hollow cornering stabilizers, aluminum swingarms, higher structural strength springs and modified wheels improve steering responses.
In connection with this, the chassis has also been retuned, with more comfortable settings at the front and tighter settings at the rear, in principle improving comfort and maneuverability at the same time; arc stability is improved by a system that regulates the braking force on the inner wheels as a function of lateral acceleration.
Engine power has not changed - the LC500 with a 5.0 V8 intake engine delivers 471 horsepower and 540 Nm, while the LC500h’s 3.5V6 hybrid delivers 354 hp. However, the programming of the transmissions has changed, so both types accelerate more dynamically at city and highway speeds and at exit corners.
The previous Apple CarPlay smartphone integration only supported the connection of the iPhone, but from now on there will also be Android Auto in the car.
The changes apply to the North American specification Lexus LC, the exact details of the European model upgrade have not yet been announced by the factory.
