In addition to diesel, mild hybrid models, here’s the bloody Maserati Ghibli, with a 580-horsepower Ferrari V8 in the nose.
Big changes are happening at Maserati lately. After 40,520 units, the last intake V8 GranTurismo rolled off the line and then they introduced their new six-cylinder turbo engine, but perhaps most dropped the chain from the four-cylinder, mild-hybrid Ghibli. The Italians aren’t completely crazy, they just need these steps to make things as cool as a Ferrari-powered limousine.
The 3.8-liter biturbo V8 engine delivers 580 horsepower at 7,250 and 730 Nm of torque. With this, the Ghibli accelerates to 100 in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 326 km / h. The Ghibli Trophy comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and exclusively rear-wheel drive, with a self-locking differential. Trofeo models can be identified by red gills and darker taillights. Inside, the larger touch screen onboard system is a novelty.
