With integrated online communication systems, brand new Android multimedia technology, and of course a brand new electrified powertrain, the Maserati Ghibli Hybrid was introduced.
Maserati has supplemented its two-liter, in-line four-cylinder petrol turbo engine with a 48-volt generator as well as an electric compressor. The result is a 330-horsepower, 450 Nm-driven powertrain capable of a top speed of 255 km / h and flying a heavy car to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds.
However, the hybrid Ghibli is not as heavy: the powertrain weighs about 80 kilograms less than the powertrain of the Maserati Ghibli Diesel (275 hp, 600 Nm, 6.3 sec 0-100 km / h, 250 km / h). The WLTP-compliant average consumption of the direct petrol injection engine is 8.5-9.6 l / 100 km.
In addition to the mild hybrid powertrain, Maserati has also introduced a complete connectivity program that includes an Android Auto-based multimedia system, up to a 10.1-inch touchscreen, and an integrated Alexa digital assistant. The mild hybrid Ghibli will soon be followed by other electrified Maserati, next year, for example, the new GranTurismo and GranCabrio will have a purely electric powertrain.
