The previous Apple CarPlay smartphone integration only supported the connection of the iPhone, but from now on there will also be Android Auto in the car.
Today, the color industry of the automotive industry is working to find a successor to internal combustion engines: due to the strict emission standards introduced due to climate change, it is becoming increasingly difficult for manufacturers to sell only fossil fuel-powered cars. Most are working on electric drive development, either in collaboration with other manufacturers or just alone, but McLaren approaches the problem from a different perspective.
Jens Ludmann, operations director of the British sports car factory, revealed that they are working on the development of a synthetic fuel. The project is still in its early stages, but if all goes well, it could also mean that we can run our vehicles, which emit a lot of harmful substances today, on clean fuel.
“The technological background for synthetic fuels is still under development, but keep in mind that it can be produced using solar energy and is as easy to transport as current fuels - I am committed to research,” the director said. "Today's engines would require minimal modification to do so."
Wokingians, of course, suspect that this will not reverse automotive trends, Ludmann says the proliferation of electric vehicles will continue even after the successful development of synthetic fuel. However, according to him, their invention has a place in a hybrid system, the development of which has not been disclosed in detail.
