Instead of the Dieter Zetsche, a mustache, a popular face for the Daimler company, a Swede arrives.
The 65-year-old Dieter Zetsche has resigned from the helm of the Daimler Presidential and Mercedes-Benz passenger cars at the end of 2019, the company announced in a statement.
Zetsche has been Chief Executive Officer of Daimler for 12 years and has a very successful era. In the premium segment, Mercedes has regained its lead in Formula One, the Mercedes-AMG team has been in the car for quite some time. At the same time, there is a period of time for both the automotive and commercial vehicles, which have already been dealt with by Daimler.
Appointment of the CEO of Ola Källenius, a Swedish national, is the first time that a company based in Stuttgart will not be controlled by a German. Kaellenius is also an old motorbike dealer at Daimler, who previously had a leading role in the Mercedes-Benz car industry, and then led the AMG unit that manufactures Mercedes's sports cars. At the end of 2016, he became the development leader of the entire group of companies, from which he will soon be up.
