NAV: Documents related to the car tax are received

According to the information, a decision will be made this year as well for those whose car tax has changed compared to last year, but for whom the amount of the tax is unchanged, NAV will remind them of the payment in a notice.
This year, the tax must be paid in HUF without rounding; if only this difference compared to last year, NAV will also only send a notification letter instead of a decision.

Neither those who are exempt from the tax for a full year will receive a decision or a notification, and this can be ascertained from the NAV register. Examples are ecclesiastical legal entities or some NGOs. Nor will those whose vehicles are tax-free receive a letter.

It is worth paying attention to the deadlines, because in case of late payment of the tax, a late payment surcharge can increase the amount, the tax authority emphasized.

The vehicle tax will still have to be paid to NAV on account NAV 10032000-01079160, NAV Domestic Vehicle Tax Revenue Account. When making a bank transfer, the tax number or tax identification number must be indicated at the beginning of the notice box, if this is not the case, NAV will not be able to link the paid amount to the payer or will only be late.

Those obliged to open a current account can only settle the payment by bank transfer. Those who are not required to open a current account can pay by bank transfer, check or transfer via the Electronic Payments and Settlement Subsystem (EFER).

The decisions and notifications are sent electronically by NAV to everyone who is available electronically, the others receive the papers by post.

The document arriving at the repository should be moved to the "repository", because the document will only be available in the repository for 30 days, after which it will be deleted, NAV stated in its announcement.

If someone has a representative or proxy who can act in connection with the motor vehicle tax, the decision will only be given to the representative. Both the taxpayer and the representative will receive the reminder notice. In order to prepare, the representatives will be informed separately by NAV, the office said.
