Of the victims involved in the Terézváros house collapse, only those car owners who had comprehensive casco insurance can count on quick compensation, possibly taking 3-4 weeks, Péter Németh, communications director of the CLB Independent Insurance Brokerage Company, told MTI on Wednesday.
He said that the other motorists can expect compensation from the company responsible for the crash or through the apartment building's liability insurance, after they determine who is responsible. After vehicles have been damaged in a non-traffic accident, the insurer will not reimburse the costs based on the compulsory insurance or partial casco.
The brokerage firm's specialist knows that one of the 5-6 cars involved had a comprehensive casco; and another vehicle owner concluded a partial contract, valid only for breakage or theft.
Determining who is responsible for the collapse can take years in such a case, it may happen that one or the other, possibly both parties are involved, and then the person appeals - he explained.
If the person responsible does not have insurance that covers this type of case, those involved can get money through civil litigation, he explained, pointing out that getting money from companies or residents is a more time-consuming process.
The specialist recommended that all those involved - including the injured and those who lost their property - carefully review their existing insurance contracts, in addition to casco, home and life insurance, as well as insurance related to bank cards, as in many cases the products also cover this type of damage. they provide protection.
