The series of police actions that capture irregular motorists with a camera is effective, and the number of devices suitable for the task is constantly expanding. This time, however, with cameras instead of new cars, which will result in even more surveillance and even more listened offenders.
In the first round, 20 cars were equipped with image recorders, and then, seeing the efficiency, another 12 new cars were acquired and prepared for the hidden inspection form. This year, another eight high-performance , unmarked police cars were put into service by the police, also for the above purpose. With all this, the fleet has grown to 40 cars.
To further develop the existing equipment, a change of strategy was made , according to which the existing civilian cars could also be used for covert inspection tasks. Thus, in order to further develop the technical background of the on - the-fly inspection , another 104 tachograph cameras were purchased at the expense of the ORFK-OBB, as well as the same number of tablets with which the recordings can be managed and archived.
Equipped with a GPS module, the tachograph Mio MiVue 786 WiFi cameras and Lenovo tablets record irregularities with FullHD video, which they can even show to the stopped driver on the spot. With this, the proportion of motorists admitting irregularities is practically 100 percent: there is no point in denying it, as there is a record of probative value.
Thus, the fleet of 40 cars that can be deployed for covert inspections has multiplied , as in addition to civilian vehicles with fixed equipment, an additional 104 police cars can be used for such purposes! In addition to civilian cars, mobile devices can, of course, also be used in patrol cars with stickers and a stable distinctive sign (light bridge) that do not yet have an image capture system.
