The 4.2-liter suction six-cylinder will drive the new 911 RSR racing car with which to defend the WEC championship title on Porsche.
Since 2017, he has won over twenty category wins in the WEC Championship, 911 RSR has won important long-term races from Le Mans to Sebring, but Porsche has built a brand new car in line with the new rules. Only the headlights, the brakes, the clutch, the driver's seat and some of the chassis components are left out of the old.
No and the principle: the new car is also a suction engine. However, its displacement volume was increased to 4.2 liters, with a power of up to 515 horsepower; the gearbox is a six-speed unit with increased structural rigidity. The exhaust pipes are led at the two edges of the tail so that a highly efficient diffuser is reached between them.
The emphasis was placed on the drivers, durability and ease of repair. Carbon body parts are quickly replaceable, and the car has flawlessly completed a 30-hour marathon during development.
