A Chinese real estate company has acquired majority ownership in Saab's resurgence NEVS company, so there is hope for the brand's return.
The Swedish Saab car brand went bankrupt in 2012. Subsequently, Hong Kong investors have set up NEVS (National Electric Vehicles Sweden) to announce the acquisition of Saab as an electric car.
Nothing has happened here - two years after the official premiere, there are still no 9-3 electrified streets on the streets - but now it seems that the gears may start moving again: an Evergrande group bought 51% of the NEVS The capital injection in China will hopefully be enough for the Chinese manufacturing plant, which was delivered in 2017, to start producing the electric sedan.
It is planned that cars will be produced later in Trollhattan, Saab's original home, and will be marketed in Europe over time.
