A special audio system was developed by Continental and Sennheiser. The solution makes the sounds vibrate indoors.
Continental's Ac2ated Sound audio system and Sennheiser's Ambeo Mobility solution showcased at the CES Consumer Electronics Trade Fair.
The former works without separate loudspeakers, some elements of the interior - roof pillars or doors, roof cladding, hat racks, etc. - used as a membrane. The benefits are tangible: fewer parts, less space and especially weight reduction: the new audio system can be up to 90 percent lighter than a traditional high-quality multi-speaker system.
Sennheiser has added its own 3D sound to this hardware. Ambeo Mobility is capable of producing 3D sound from a field stereo source - so both systems produce things from non-existent. In the age of virtual reality, this is not so surprising anymore.
