It will produce so much electricity that would be enough for 5,000 households for a year.
At the top of two logistics centers in Audi Hungaria, an hour-long roof rack park is being built in Győr, about 160,000 square meters. The energy partner of the investment, E.ON, builds a 12 megawatt built-in high-performance nepelempark, which is expected to be produced from January 2020 onwards.
Audi Hungaria provides the roof surface of two logistic centers of approximately 80,000 square meters each for the construction of a solar power plant. A park of 35,000 solar cells will produce more than 9.5 GWh of energy per year. This amount of energy corresponds to the annual energy demand of 5,000 households. Thanks to the green electricity generated from renewable sources, about 6,000 tons less carbon dioxide is released into the air.
Audi Hungaria already covers 70 percent of its energy needs for the operation of the factory, from renewable geothermal energy.
