For many, Subaru is synonymous with the sporty four-door, which has been so successful in rally races and that still defines the brand to this day. The WRX STI is therefore not only a real sports version, but also for those who don’t want to hear the boxer’s voice all the time and fight the clutch. The S4, for which the Sport # release has just arrived, is for them.
The exterior is restrained in the Japanese market model, recognizable by its black grille and splitter, as well as 18-inch black alloy wheels. This 500-piece limited-edition version does not get a rear wing. Inside are Recaro seats and Alcantara-coated steering wheel. In addition, the car also receives additional sound insulation, which reduces rolling noise of 200 Hz by 0.6 decibels in the front seats and by 0.5 decibels in the rear seats compared to the smooth STI Sport.
A sports muffler (delivers 10% more torque), a transmission oil cooler, Bilstein DTMatic II front suspension and front-rear tower brace are also included in the Sport #. The 2-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged boxer engine has 296 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, all-wheel drive and is only available with a continuously variable CVT transmission. Japanese buyers can deposit it for an amount corresponding to HUF 12.1 million.
