Instead of Boxster, the top version of the open two-seat Porsche was introduced as a 718 Spyder. Cayman just got the GT4 label - and a four-cylinder, six-cylinder suction engine.
420 hp, 420 Nm, four-cylinder suction motor, six-speed manual transmission, 1420 kg: these are the basic parameters of the new Porsche 718 Spyder sports car, which is also appearing as the Cayman GT4 brother, who is now also featured.
With up to 8,000 rpm, the six-cylinder rotary engine is 35 hp more powerful than the previous generation GT4. Both cars accelerate to 4.4 km / h in 4.4 seconds, the speed is 301 km / h for Spyder and 3 km / h for Cayman GT4.
The novelty of the block is the use of piezo injectors; in addition, these are switched off by one of the bankers when the engine is running at partial load.
The Cayman GT4's specially designed bodywork produces up to 50% more clamping force with unchanged air resistance. This is where the special, space-saving silencer plays a major role in achieving a highly efficient diffuser, which gives 30% of the clamping force on the rear axle.
While the Cayman GT4 has a fixed rear wing, the Spyder blade with a simplified canopy hides itself at 120 km / h. The model also received a functional diffuser, the first of which was the Boxster.
Both models are equipped with a 30 mm active axle with mechanical rear differential lock. The Cayman GT4 comes with a Clubsport package at a basic price, which includes a rigid rear corner stabilizer, a hand fire extinguisher, and a six-point driver's seat belt. The ceramic brake system is optional.
