Air pollution is a growing problem in England, so it would reduce the speed of motorways.
Over the past two decades, UK motorway traffic has grown by a quarter and this can also be seen in the level of nitrogen dioxide. Air pollution, on the other hand, raises health concerns and would be combated, among other things, by lowering the maximum speed limit on motorways.
As long as you can race on unlimited sections in Germany, and in Hungary the upper limit is 130 km / h, in England it is 70 miles / hour, which corresponds to 113 km / h.
For the time being, 60 mile (96 km / h) signs would be placed on certain sections as a test. In order to examine the reduction in the permitted speed, the restriction would therefore remain for more than 1 year on certain sections of M1, M5, M6 and M602. Roughly each section is a little over 7 miles long.
So I want to prevent air pollution from affecting residential areas close to motorways. Those motorists who will drive 70 pounds out of the habit can expect a fine of nearly 40 thousand forints.
