The police also posted a notice on its website as a warning. The point is that the measurements of the hunt start because the road users are not "partners" at the moment.
Here's the announcement:
As part of the change of culture of action, the police made a commitment to the road users with pre-announced, clearly visible checks. He hoped that this prudent gesture, assuming a correct partnership, triggered a law-abiding traffic behavior.
Today, it has been proven that the police will remain more and more involved with this commitment. Recent years have seen a significant reduction in the compliance of road users: accident numbers - and the violations behind them - have increased with unchanged police practices and control intensity. Pre-announced, clearly visible checks are not a general deterrent. Some of the road users only follow the rules until they feel that they are in the field of view of the authority and may be the result of a failure to do so.
The culture of police action must not break from reality. In order to improve the traffic situation and to reduce the number of accidents, the police consider it necessary to expand the control methods and tools within the limits provided by the legislation. Since a law or a body governed by public law does not specify that the device to be used for inspection should be visibly displayed to the occupants, it also implies that they may be used concealed. This way of checking is an internationally accepted practice, applied in many countries in Europe (eg Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Germany, France).
Social engagement is of paramount importance in the development of the road safety situation. In addition to the responsibility of the social organizations, the media, it is also the responsibility of the individual, to which not only the drivers belong. Some high-profile offenses (driving in a drunken or stunted state, speeding, using a hand-held mobile phone) are also traveling in the vehicle, so passengers can be expected to draw the driver's attention to their own behavior for their own safety.
Against this background, in the coming period, the police will pursue traffic police actions and campaigns against the most dangerous traffic behaviors and identify violations that are of major importance for road safety (eg speeding, drunk or stagnant driving, stopping lanes on expressways) the use of the rules on the use of passive safety devices). The protection of the most vulnerable road users, pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists is a priority among the programs. The purpose of the controls is not to increase the fines but to curb the negative processes and improve the road safety situation. It is in the common interest of all of us to injure or lose their lives on the roads.
